“An adaptation of an adaptation”. The Speakeasy Society’s irreverent and uproarious virtual take on their own take on A Christmas Carol. Performed over Zoom, audiences traveled through over twenty unique breakout rooms filled with new and classic characters, encouraged to explore the story and interact with familiar characters in new ways. They played charades with Scrooge’s nephew Fred, had a beer with Bob Cratchit, attended a raucous party with the Fezziwigs, looked within themselves at the behest of Jacob Marley, or followed Ebenezer's journey as he confronted his own mortality and greed.
Profits from the 2020 and 2021 production benefited Mutual Aid LA, an organization connecting vulnerable populations to the help and resources they need.
