In addition to producing our own work, The Speakeasy Society has partnered with major theatres and themed entertainment operators to deliver intimate storytelling at massive scale, including Walt Disney Imagineering, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Meow Wolf, The Broad Stage, and Two Bit Circus.

Our unique collaborative process is the through line in all our work, whether a given project is collaborative, partner-driven or independently produced.

 

This process begins with blue sky ideation, during which workshop exercises are created exploring the themes, language, and modes of interaction inspired by the story world. Our workshops are a fast-paced actor-driven process that subvert overthinking and encourage on-your-feet creative problem solving. We typically hold multiple workshopping phases for each project, followed by an iterative script development process. Our productions are 99% scripted, with frameworks provided even for interactive improvisational material.

 

Element lists, design assets, and media content are created alongside script development. Experience and interactivity design is baked into every stage of our process from workshopping and scripting through read-throughs and rehearsals.
